Strangely Familiar explores the peculiarities of urban formalism—a form of formalism that emerges not from the conventional abstract tradition but from the intricate dynamics of urban concerns and their artistic expressions. Featuring works by 10 contemporary Indonesian artists, this exhibition showcases how the wide spectrum of the culture industry can expand the modes of artistic approaches, methods, and idioms related to urban formalism.
