J.A. Pramuhendra explored religious themes, particularly Christianity, in his paintings for several years. While maintaining his signature charcoal and realist portraiture technique, the artworks in this exhibition marked a shift. Here, Pramuhendra employed a process of randomly searching for images, or as he described it, "searching for images through a monster named the virtual world." This process served to delay or even obscure his original religious intentions for the works.
