Among Andy Dewantoro's many paintings, several depict an open window veiled by a transparent curtain. This motif suggests that the faintly visible natural landscape beyond is conceived as an idea rather than a representation. As in conceptual art, the landscape is associated with consciousness rather than visual appearance. This is a significant indication that Andy Dewantoro's paintings embody the principles of contemporary painting and demonstrate that painting remains a vital and evolving medium in contemporary artistic practice.
